One of the cemetery's outstanding artistic values is the artificial stone crucifix erected later, which the community had made for 3,000 pengő. The model for the crucified Christ was János Bernát, a local painter. The sculptural work was carried out by his wife, the talented American-born artist Mrs. János Bernát, née Martha Milligan. This work of art still defines the sacred atmosphere of the cemetery to this day. Walking through the cemetery, visitors can sense the historical depth of the place. A temetőhöz gazdag hagyományok is fűződnek, amelyek erősítették a közösségi összetartozást. Az 1940-es évektől egészen 1952-ig az egyházi „keresztjáró napok” keretében körmenetek indultak a templomból a temetőbe. Ezen alkalmakkor került sor a központi kereszt megszentelésére. Ezeket a szertartásokat Kocsis László plébános, neves papköltő vezette. Az Újdombóvári temető így nemcsak a gyász, hanem a közös emlékezés és a vallási élet fontos színtere is volt. A helytörténeti kutatások, amelyeket Mészárosné Fodor Klára végzett, részletesen dokumentálják a temető múltját.
