Designated as a burial place for the Reformed community in 1778, it has a history spanning more than two centuries. The cemetery was originally surrounded by a ditch and carefully planted with trees to create a dignified resting place, where oaks, elms, and acacias provide shade for those paying their respects. Covering an area of approximately 30 acres, it was once considered one of the largest and most beautiful burial sites in the city. From the very beginning, the layout and maintenance of the area were carried out in the spirit of deep religious and moral reverence. This burial ground served exclusively as the final resting place for members of the Reformed denomination, a tradition that continues to this day in local denominational cemeteries. The combined sight of the well-tended environment and the old tombstones creates a unique, peaceful atmosphere. The site not only functioned as a burial place but also became an integral part of the city's cultural and social life.\n\n\n\n
Historical Memorial Site and Community Heritage<\/h3>\n\n\n\nThe cemetery enjoys monument protection and is also recognized as part of the National Pantheon network, highlighting its national significance. The graves of the honv\u00e9d soldiers from the 1848-49 Revolution and War of Independence hold particular value; their renovation took place recently, paying tribute to the memory of the heroes. These military graves carry significant local historical importance and strengthen the sense of community belonging among visitors. The Old Reformed Cemetery was also a popular excursion spot in the past, where students could prepare for their exams in a quiet environment, immersing themselves in the tranquility of nature and history. The maintenance of the area and the provision of funeral services are carried out by the Kiskunhalas Reformed Parish, which ensures the preservation of the site's dignity. The parish also organizes periodic church services held in the cemetery, providing spiritual support for the bereaved. This historical memorial site not only preserves the past but also actively serves the present community. The many old tombstones, sacred structures, and the surrounding wooded area together form a quiet, green oasis in the heart of the city. The place is a sanctuary of peace and remembrance, where visitors can respectfully honor the memory of their departed loved ones. Walking along the maintained paths under the canopy of trees, visitors can remember in a dignified environment. The burial ground is an indispensable part of the historical heritage of the Kiskunhalas community, teaching respect for traditions and appreciation of the past.","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":3340,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"jetpack_publicize_message":"","jetpack_publicize_feature_enabled":true,"jetpack_social_post_already_shared":false,"jetpack_social_options":{"image_generator_settings":{"template":"highway","default_image_id":0,"font":"","enabled":false},"version":2}},"listing_category":[98,99],"event_category":[],"service_category":[],"rental_category":[],"classifieds_category":[],"listing_feature":[],"region":[106],"class_list":["post-3338","listing","type-listing","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","listing_category-temeto","listing_category-viragarus","region-bacs-kiskun-varmegye"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v26.4 (Yoast SEO v28.6) -
