A temetőhöz gazdag hagyományok is fűződnek, amelyek erősítették a közösségi összetartozást. Az 1940-es évektől egészen 1952-ig az egyházi „keresztjáró napok” keretében körmenetek indultak a templomból a temetőbe. Ezen alkalmakkor került sor a központi kereszt megszentelésére. Ezeket a szertartásokat Kocsis László plébános, neves papköltő vezette. Az Újdombóvári temető így nemcsak a gyász, hanem a közös emlékezés és a vallási élet fontos színtere is volt.
